FAQ CTA

1. What is On-Grid Solar System and how does it work?

Solar Panels convert sunlight into DC electricity. An inverter then turns that into AC power. With an on-grid system, any extra energy you generate gets exported back to the main grid trough net metering and credits your account to further reduce your bill.

2. What is Net Metering in On-Grid Solar System?

When your Solar Panels make more electricity that your home needs, the extra electricity goes to the government power grid. In return, you get credits. Later, when your solar panels are not making enough electricity you take electricity back from the grid.

3. Can I claim government subsidy with an On-Grid system?

Yes. The On-Grid solar system is eligible for the PM Surya Ghar Yojana Subsidy. As Hi-Tech is fully empaneled under the scheme, we manage the entire application on your behalf. Please note that only local residential customers are eligible for the subsidy

4. What happens to my On-Grid system during a power outage?

On-grid systems automatically shut down during a power outage, this is a mandatory safety feature to protect the linemen working on the grid. So, if outages are a regular problem in your area, a hybrid system with battery backup might suit you better.

5. How much time would it take to recover the investment on the on-grid system?

Most residential on-grid customers recover their full investment with 3 to 5 years, sometimes even faster with the government subsidies as it reduces the upfront cost. The exact period depends on your system size, usage and current electricity tariff.
